It started in Vancouver, Canada way back in 2004 and has become an annual even, with cities throughout the world taking part. This year we are talking about Mexico City… and, of course, the Annual Naked Bike Day.

Literally hundreds of cyclists turned up and bared all to demand better rights for the cyclists of Mexico City and the world. Normally, the advice would be to put enough clothing on when cycling to prevent injury, but on this day, the fewer clothes, the better.

What the riders are fighting for is more respect from drivers, but also they want to demonstrate, by their nudity, the vulnerability of the human body and finally to show that pedal-power promotes a healthy lifestyle.

Not every rider was naked… there were some that were partially clothed and some with just bits and bobs uncovered. All in all, everyone had a really good day out, the passersby were amused and generally not offended and most important of all, the riders got a whole pile of publicity.
