Caught in the Act

The Guardia Civil in Salobreña had the joyous surprise of nabbing two burglars hiding inside a bar that they had just broken into.

It was two in the morning on Monday the 18th and a police patrol noticed that the metal shutters on bar door had been forced open, so they stopped to investigate – not many bar owners are around at that time, and when they are, they have keys to enter rather than a crowbar.

One optimistic chap they found hiding behind a chair, and the other huddled under the sink – boo! We found you; now it’s your turn to look for us… at the police station.

The two men, who were aged 44 and 42 and both from Motril, had forced open the door and disable the burglar alarms, but unfortunately for them, the Guardia Civil had been bored and out on patrol.
