The children’s park in La Herradura has had its public lighting improved, thanks to a change to the lighting arrangement.
The old lighting system was problematic as it was situated at ground level – some teens, preferring a bit of intimacy, could easily cover them over, for instance.
A total of 36 ground-level, floodlights with an individual output of 70 watts, were removed and replaced by eight lampposts with a consumption of only ten watts.
The First Councillor for La Herradura, Juan José Ruiz, said that the changeover represents a huge energy saving, but at the same time, improves the lighting effect throughout the park.
