A total of 54 divers divided into 27 separate teams competed to provide the most spectacular subaquatic photos in La Herradura Bay, as part of the commemoration of the 450th anniversary of the shipwrecking of the Spanish Fleet in the Bay.

Of the hundreds of photos taken, a top selection of just 100 will be submitted to the judging panel. The results and prizes will be given in the village’s Centro Cívico today starting from 19.30h

Readers are reminded that independently of this event, there is also an exhibition in the Centro Cívico, entitled: Andalucía Bajo el Mar, comprising of photographs by Manuel Campillo, who is the ex-world champion for submarine photography. The exhibition can be viewed from 10.00h to 14.00h & 17.00h to 21.00h.

Finally, the team that is proclaimed Spanish Champions will form part of the Spanish selection for the World Championships, which will be held in Cuba next year.
