The village of La Herradura has many miles, tracks and two dry riverbeds spread through the village centre, housing estates and rural areas, all of which need continuous maintenance, especially after the investment of municipal funds and the help and support of the Construction Planning and Deputation department of the local government to get a good many of roads and tracks asphalted.
Well, now the Town Hall is saying that the upkeep and cleansing of these routes is just as important as the original work carried out, and to that end they are planning a programme of cleaning and clearing all the tracks connecting main routes.
“Cleaning up the main road of Las Palomas was at the request of local people who had spent years waiting for a response from the Town Hall, according to the president of the residents association, He also provided a damning report of years of neglect,” explained Deputy Mayor, Juan José Joya (PP), who also went on to ask for the collaboration of local people in the care and maintenance, “since we also now observe that in some cases ornamental plants are protruding from private properties onto tracks and causing problems to walkers.”
Mr. Joya did congratulate the residents on getting their tracks sorted out after ten years of what he described as “municipal inaction.”
