You will be surprised by the amount of violence in just one month – or perhaps you wont, but here goes: this is the first of a cluster of violent incidents within Andalucía during a month.

Some people appear to confuse ambulances with taxis. A 25-year-old man approached a parked ambulance at the Almogía medical centre and insisted that it took him to the main Málaga hospital so that he could visit his father.

The driver, taken aback, expressed in a concise sentence both a refusal and a suggestion involving improbable physical instructions. This was the point where the man allegedly pulled out a spanner and started beating the buggery out of the ambulance, starting with the windscreen. As a result of the vandalism, the ambulance was off the road for two days.

The Guardia Civil were informed and the man was arrested quickly because the culprit was no stranger to them, as he had been pulled in for breaking the windows of the Almogía, Guardia-Civil post.
