Park Improvements

Talking of the town’s main park, the Parque de las Americas, it’s going to receive a facelift, as well. The town’s skint (broke) but as voters have to be ‘stimulated,’ money from somewhere will be found – or borrowed – to impress them, naturally.

It’s Gastronomy Time

It’s June, and that means it is once again time for the Feria Gastromónica (Gastronomic Fair), in the Majuelo Park in Almuñécar during the weekend of 11th, 12th and 13th.
Those of you who have been to this event before will no doubt be paying another visit, and if this is one of the annual ferias you have not yet visited, then you are in for a treat.

Beetle Doom

The Escarabajo (red beetle) has now well and truly got its clutches into the Washington palm trees on the coast and has set off an alarm signal from the Agricultural Department of Parks and Gardens in Motril

Paseo Statues

Have you seen the stone carvings on the Paseo del Altillo? They’re courtesy of our Syrian sculptors that have in previous years decked out the Parque Majuelo with their works.

Lorry Park Suggested

The Partido Popular put forward a motion in the last plenary meeting of the Town Council, suggesting that the large space under the autovía bridge over the Río Verde should be utilized as a lorry-parking area.

Chamboa to Cuba
