Almuñécar Reduces Debt

Well, it appears that Almuñécar has clawed back four million euros from its debt, after putting to bed the 2012 budget year. The debt at the close of 2011 stood at 42,193,097 euros, whereas at the close of 2012 it had been reduced to 39,228,923 euros.

Gasp!

Almuñécar owes eight million euros in legal fees to a local legal firm, thanks to the constant court cases against the municipality. All of this sum was accrued under Juan Carlos Benavides.

The Untouchables?

This article is neither about Eliot Ness nor a Hindu caste, but about the Almuñécar town hall, and the title reflects the words chosen by the Mayor’s office to describe certain tradesmen and contractors that allegedly had no problem getting paid for their services under the ex-Mayor, Juan Carlos Benavides, whilst others were far from that ‘fortunate.’

Rubbish Lorry is Rubbish

According to the PP in Alhendín, municipal vehicles won’t pass their ITV’s owing to their lamentable state. They demand, for example, that the rubbish collection lorry should be taken off the road as its ITV certificate expired 3 months previously.
