The Almuñécar Town Hall managed to reduce the municipal debt by 35.5 million euros in the space of just seven years.
According to the Councillor for Hacienda, Antonio Laborda, when the PP came to power in 2011, the municipal debt stood at 46.2 million euros, so the governing party got down to work reducing this debt.
Sr. Laborda says that the town had been bearing the weight of such a debt for 20 years, owing to squandering, in his opinion.
At the end of the 2017 the municipal debt stood at only 11.1-million euros, which while still a lot, is much, much less.
