International experts gathered to decide whether the cave drawings in the Cuevas de Nerja belong to Neanderthal man or not. Carbon dating carried out in January 2012 put them around 43,500 years old.

Illegal Dumping Near Maro Aqueduct

Alerted by the cultural association La Volaera, the Nerja Town Hall is taking action against a local farmer for alleged illegal dumping. The Acueducto del Águila is a Bien de Interés Cultural (cultural heritage site).
