Alerted by the cultural association La Volaera, the Nerja Town Hall is taking action against a local farmer for alleged illegal dumping. The Acueducto del Águila is a Bien de Interés Cultural (cultural heritage site).

Fortunately, we’re not talking about rubbish, organic or otherwise, but the dumping of earth produced by opening an access track to a parcel of land.

The Councillor for Education & Culture, Gema García, explained that they are going to evaluate if any damage has been caused to the structure. The Town Council is also contacting the Sociedad Azucarera Larios (Salsa) to find out who has leased the said parcel of land from them.
