Those readers concerned about the effect that the proposed new building developments on the Peñón del Lobo will have on the coastal footpath between Herradura and Almunecar will be pleased to know that the Junta de Andalucia has recently placed an information board at the Cotobro end of the “Fishermans’ Pathway,” which has a a map showing the route and details of the wildlife to be seen. They have also placed a wooden viewing platform along the path, at a point overlooking the Marina del Este

The new municipal administration is working on modifications to its urban-development paperwork in an attempt to get the Junta de Andalucia to allow the 5-star hotel in Santa Cruz, Sebastian to open. The Hotel Cercado de Santa Cruz has been inactive for the last four years, although 75% complete, owing to terrain-qualification irregularities.
Wind-Powered Electricity Generators

The wind farm on the way to Lujar from Granada is generating a bit of controversy as well as electricity, it seems. The ecologist association, Buxus has denounced two of these impressive windmills – or ‘aero-generators’ as they are known in Spanish – for lacking the relevant relevant environmental controls.
