The Almuñécar Town Hall has incorporated a LíneaVerde or Green Line, service on http://www.lineaverdealmunecar.com/ if companies or residents have any doubts or question about local environmental issues, this is where you can make yourself heard.
Although there are over 100 such lineas verdes in Spain, Almuñécar’s one is the first in the province. The service was announced by the Councillor for the Environment, Luis Aragón, accompanied by the Councillor for Administrative Organization and Tax Office, Antonio Laborda, as well as a representative from the company in charge of municipal rubbish collection, FCC, in the person of Daniel laguna Lara, together with Raquel Segovia, representing Ambientum.com, which is the company that will host and run the website.
The Seaside Gazette checked out the website and found that it covers everything from environmental laws to subventions, in the case of companies. The only problem, from a foreigner’s point of view, who might have little command of the Spanish language, is that the site is only in Spanish, but with online translators available, this shouldn’t prove an insurmountable problem for the intrepid!
The site says, for example that “A group of experts will be in contact with you within a maximum period of 24 hours in a personalised and reliable manner, without any cost, whatsoever, for citizens or companies.”
