Opposition Not Happy with A7 Delay

The regional socialist party has accused the Central Government of delaying the completion of the A-7. They demand that the Central Government spend 116m euros so that the A-7, minus the Carchuna-Castell section, so it can all be opened this year.

“The Government has spent 10,000m euros in Spain during 2012 but only 35m of which corresponded to the A-7,” said regional socialist MP, Juan Manuel Fernández. He even claimed that the A-7 wouldn’t be finished to 2016.

Editorial comment: We could go on, but basically what happened from that moment on was merely an accusation-launching competition between the PP and the PSOE representative, demanding that their opponents apologized for breaking their promises on the completion dates for the A-7.

Sadly, whichever side is in power at any given moment, the road just doesn’t get finished. Admittedly, far more was accomplished under the socialists but on the other hand, they had spent more time in the driving seat in Madrid than the conservatives.

The only thing that appears to be certain is that the coming summer traffic will be jamming up again along the tired and sagging N-340.
