Tarmay BMX Competition

Local riders held their own in this region-wide BMX competition held on Almuñécar’s scrambling track in Taramay. Riders and spectators enjoyed almost five hours of races.

Segovía 2012 Competition Winners

Classical guitarist, Gabriel Bianco, becomes the 2012 winner of the Andrés Segovia, international, classical guitar competition, held in the Civic Centre of La Herradura. This young musician is the second Frenchman to win this prestigious competition, after Bertrand Pietu won it five years ago.

Trouble & Strife Race – Wonky World August

We are in Finland, where they have recently held the Wife Carrying World Championships. Yes, that’s correct, there is a world championships for carrying a wife… and it looks like bloody hard work. The contestants have to tackle a 250 metro assault course, all with ‘a little’ extra weight hanging upside-down from the man’s neck.

Anorexic Appetite

Ex anorexic Peter Czerwinski has become a hamburger-eating champion! The 24-year-old ate 15 hamburgers in the space of 10 minutes during the competition called the Z-Burger Independence Burger Eating Championship. The title also came with 1,000 dollars, to spend on larger trousers one would guess, the win also pocketed him 1,000 dollars worth of gift cards for the local hamburger chain, just what he needs… another bunch of bloody burgers!

Chilean Winner for Segovia 1st Prize

The 31-year-old, Chilean competitor, Renato Serrano Muñoz took the top prize at the annual classical-guitar competition in La Herradura, as well as the special prize, Leo Brouwer, which is awarded for the best rendition of the Dos Cantares piece by Antón García Abril.
