Today at 21.00hrs on Velilla Beach in Almuñécar there will be an angling competition.

The IV Concurso de Pesca Selectiva, which has been organised by the Club de Pesca Costa Tropical, will go on into the early hours of Sunday. So far there are around ten competitors, all club members.

The anglers will be competing for a chance to participate in the provincial level competition.

This is a  Surfcasting competition and points will be awarded according to the weight of the competitor’s total catch

As the club belongs to a federation, the Junta de Andalucia norms on minimum size will be used, meaning that if a participant has two undersized fishes in his catch, he will be disqualified.

The club also has a fishing event organised for the 12th of October for kids, with the idea of introducing the younger Almuñequeros to the art of angling.
