Almuñécar Paragliding Competion Results

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERASamuel Aguilera from Málaga won the regional paragliding championship, which was held in Taramay, Almuñécar on the 19th & 20th of October.

Around 50 competitors took part, most from the Spanish Federation for Paragliding, but some international flyers did as well, as it was an open-style event.

Second place was won by Benito García from the province of Jaen and Third Prize to Malagueño, Juan Bautista. The prize for group competitors went to the Bullfaister team from Granada (Carlos Cervilla, Luis
Linde and Rafael Marcos), followed by the Málaga team, Tienda, (sneaky online publicity!)

There was even a tandem or ‘biplaza’ category, which was won by the Granadinos Carlos Cervilla and Luis Linde.

A lack of wind scuppered the first day of the event but Sunday got off to a ‘flying start.’

The event was organized by the Club Parapente Costa Tropical and prizes were handed over by its Chairman, Antonio Castro, and Councillor for Sports, Luis Aragón.
