Local riders held their own in this region-wide BMX competition held on Almuñécar’s scrambling track in Taramay. Riders and spectators enjoyed almost five hours of races.
Francisco Manuel Alonso came in first in the MX1 Amateur Category and Yeray Díaz Camacho, came in Third in the Alevín Category.
This sporting event, which was organized by the Motoclub MX Almuñécar, with the support of the Municipal Sports Board, saw 70 competitors taking part coming not only from other parts of Andalucia, but also other regions of Spain.
Francisco Manuel Alonso gave a particularly spectacular demonstration of dexterity after working his way up from 6th position to the top one half way through the race. Seville riders David Zayas Méndez and Antonio Romero Silva came in Second and Third, respectively.
As for the Amateur MX2 race, José Antonio González from Sevilla came in First with Juan Jesús Sevilla Escobar and Francisco Javier Robles Ordoñez, coming in Second and Third, respectively.
Needlessly to say, competitors and spectators had a great day of it.
