Castell Chiringuito Fire

Castell de Ferro’s Chiringuito Bajamare was completely gutted by fire. According o the Mayor, Eloy Marín, said that there had been a previous attempt to torch the chiringuito on Playa Cambriles, but which the Motril Fire Service had managed to put out before it could do much damage.

Police Not Silly

A man from Mamola (coastal town to the east of Motril) was arrested by the Guardia Civil, accused of submitting a false robbery report with the aim of illegally obtaining compensation from his car insurance company.

Ecologists Hit Out Over Gualchos Fire

The ecologist group, Buxus has described the recent Gualchos, mountain-brush fire as an ‘ecological disaster.’ The group condemns the fact there have been 20 attempts to set the area alight in recent years.

Gualchos Brush Fire

One hundred hectares of mountain shrub went up in flames near Gualchos on the 19th, making it the largest incident of its kind in the province of Granada this year.
