A-7 Creeps Forward

Just after we announce that the A-7 wasn’t going anywhere fast, the Government announced that it had finally awarded a construction contract for the termination of the Gorgoracha-Puntalón section of the A-7, Autovía del Mediterraneo.

The interview with the Mayor of Almuñécar, Trinidad Herrera, was given in her office at the Town Hall on the 26th of January 2012. The Mayor was asked questions concerning parking, unemployment and progress on the A-7 autovia between Taramay and Lobres.

A7 Gorgoracha-Puntalon Go Ahead

The much-needed stretch of autovia between Gorgoracha and Puntalón was 75% complete when all work ground to a halt; the construction company Isolux Corsan had struck an unexpected strata of rock that would require a lot of extra funding to reroute the construction work.

A male driver threatened a female driver with a pistol over a traffic-related argument. The police, alerted by another driver, chased after and trapped the man.

A-7 Trial Draws Closer

The bridge collapse tragedy – the worst work-related accident in the history of the province will finally reach the courts this coming February. Today was the 6th anniversary of this this tragic accident that claimed six lives.
