It has been noted that I am rather partial to a bit of Asian cuisine. So I was looking forward to my first meal at Sheng in Almuñécar, who serve specialities from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and China.
The restaurant is in C/Larache on the corner of Edif. Alhambra, and boasts a very stylish layout, with friendly staff and beautifully presented tables.

The was a real-estate fair held in the marquee on Plaza Kuwait (next to the aquarium) to exhibit just some of the 500 dwellings in Almuñécar that don’t have an owner; i.e., newly built and never sold, as well as the many second-hand homes on sale.

The Regional Supreme Court has just rejected the Town Hall’s last possible appeal against a sentence that will force Hotel Bahía Tropical (Taramay) to carry out partial demolition.

Senegalese Party

We went along to the Senegalese party, which was held in the marquee on Plaza de Kuwait on the 11th of December. It was packed. There was live music – some of the ethnic instruments used were amazing! There were also stalls selling all kinds of Senegalese handicraft; everything from paintings, carved figures and traditional clothing to samples of Senegalese sweetmeats etc.
Hunger Strike?

It now seems that the social care association, Adhara, is threatening to go on hunger strike if the Town Hall does not pay them what is owing to them. They say that they cannot pay their workers, who provide home help and other services for the elderly and infirm, if funds are not received.
