It has been noted that I am rather partial to a bit of Asian cuisine. So I was looking forward to my first meal at Sheng in Almuñécar, who serve specialities from Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and China.
The restaurant is in C/Larache on the corner of Edif. Alhambra, and boasts a very stylish layout, with friendly staff and beautifully presented tables.
We had a mixture of dishes between the three of us, as I find that way I can usually get much more than my fair share without anyone noticing. The food was well presented, and most important of all, extremely tasty. The beef with mushrooms was prepared in a rich dark sauce and the sweet and sour chicken was fabulous. Between us we had a total of six dishes, all of which were superb, and excellent value.
I thought that maybe we were the only ones to have discovered how good Sheng is… but looking around at other tables it appears that it wasn’t just our little group who have a taste for the East. There was even a couple of our Gazette clients at another table.
So if, like me, you get the urge to partake of some tastey Asian cuisine, you should definately give Sheng a taste test! Service, quality of dishes and affordability… for me they score very high on all three.
