Restaurant Reina Sofía

Well with Valentine’s Day approaching and no mention of a romantic meal out from my husband, I was delighted to accept a very generous gift from a friend, for my husband and me to sample the wonderful delights at the Restaurant Reina Sofia.
The restaurant, which is easy to find, heading towards Velilla on the Paseo de Reina Sofía, is tastefully decorated and boasts a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Alex at the fabulous Meson in the town hall square, Almuñécar tells me he is now offering a menu del dia consisting of a choice of 2 starters, a choice of 2 mains, dessert, one drink and coffee, all at just €9.50 with IVA included.

As Vanessa has mentioned above, the road works on Lanjarón’s main street continues to drag on in waterlogged obstinacy. The barrage of rain is an obvious reason for this delay, although if rain stopped work in a place with a climate like the UK, nothing would ever get built there, would it?

The completion of the coastal dual carriageway, so that we will be able to drive along the Costa Tropical from one end of the province to the other and beyond is something that our politicians hold out to us as imminent.. always imminent, yet the long-awaited moment constantly recedes.

It was in 2005 when the then Minister for Public Works, Magdelena Álvarez, announced that the A-7 coastal autovía would open in 2008. We could go back 20 years, if we wanted to retrace the first steps of the autovía, but let’s keep things within recent memory.

The XIV Solidarity Campaign with Baracoa (Cuba) enjoyed some sunshine, thank God, as there was a worry that recent rains would spoil the fund-raising event, which, by the way, will be using some of the funds obtained to help the people of Haiti.
