Juventudes Musicales

Listen up once again all you culture vultures, as we pass on the upcoming concerts to be performed by our friends Juventudes Musicales during the month of April.

Antonio Martín Quirós – Artist

Antonio is 32 years old and is a true ‘born and bred’ son of Almuñécar. He came to study art quite late in life compared to most, undertaking a Bachelor of Arts in Motril then in college in Granada, although his love of the subject was with him from an early age.
His vibrant and exciting works will be on display at the Calmar Gallery in Almuñécar that is next to the aqueduct and the Chamber of Commerce in Almuñécar. The exhibition will be on until April 27th.

Almuñécar Cultural Agenda April

The full cultural agenda for Almuñécar during the month of April, including concerts, art exhibitions and walks. Much has been left in Spanish, because with a minium knowledge of the language, it is easy to understand. The only thing that we have translated fully are the walks at the bottom of the agenda.

March Events

Don’t miss the upcoming art exhibition by artist Anna DiGesu, Life in Color: (La Vida en Color). Where and when: Centro Cívico, La Herradura, Friday, March 26th – Saturday, April 3rd. Hours: 11:00 – 13:30 & 18:00 – 20:00.

Paraglider Ditches Off Taramay

Have you ever watched the hang gliders and paragliders flying over the beach and wondered how they are not blown out to sea? Well, it does happen, as was the case of a female paraglider pilot, who had to be rescued by the Guardia Civil coastguards.

A 40-year-old gentleman from Almuñécar was discovered to have a 200-gram block of cocaine on him after he was stopped at a routine road check near Las Gabias.
