2nd Flag Day and More

The Ladies of Las Amigas de la Cruz de la Victoria are staging their second flag day tomorrow, Saturday, in Almuñécar, collecting donations to fight cancer.

Barbershop Singing in Almuñécar

An evening of Barbershop singing (unaccompanied vocal harmony) together with Spanish, English and Mongolian folk singers and a Scottish piper, in aid of Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer.

The Teaching Bond

ESO3-level pupils from Órgiva’s secondary school, IES Alpujarra put on a charity performance to raise funds for the local branch of the AECC (cancer association). The reason: one of the English teachers in the school was diagnosed with cancer this year.

AECC Charity Run

As always, the race saw many entrants running for our, much-loved, local, cancer charity, AECC (Asociacion Española Contra el Cancer). These local residents all gave up their time, not just during the run, but also obtaining sponsorship and training for the day. Some ran just a couple of K’s, while others ran the entire 14… with some respectable times we might add!

Roadrunners

The Seaside Gazettes very own Nicola Westby will be running 14km in the Almuñécar road race on Sunday 2nd October. She will be running for the Almuñécar Cancer Charity the AECC with her own two children Lottie (14) and Alex (12).

Asociación Española Contra el Cancer

The AECC (Spanish Association against Cancer/Asociación Española Contra el Cancer) and The Seaside Gazette have teamed up to raise funds in the name of cancer.
