Rise in Cancer Amongst Women

Granada comes in second from the top of all the provinces in Spain with the highest cancer rate amongst women – Spain has fifty provinces.

Each year there are 3,000 new cases of cancer in the province, mostly breast, colon and rectal, followed by lung and prostrate cancer. The ratio stands at a horrific 1-in-3 males and 1-4 females developing cancer during their lifetimes.

Fortunately, the survival rate is also rising, thanks to medical advances: two out of three cancer patients live more than five years after diagnosis.
