A package of drugs was intercepted on Playa de la Cagaílla, containing between 30 and 40 kilos of hashish. A ‘suspicious movement of vehicles’ led the Policía Local to its discovery.

Well, after the revelations that half the annual budget goes on salaries, and that contrary to election campaign promises the Mayor and the First Councillor haven’t been squeamish about their own personal salaries, it now comes to pass that hitherto uncalculated bills have taken the public debt up to nearly 12m euros.

Whilst the Central Government is assailing the nation with cuts in public spending, coupled to increased taxes etc, the Mayor of Salobreña has apparently seen fit to increase his own salary in contrary to previous electoral pledges. Not content, he has also increased the salary of one of his councillors.
