Reina Sofia’s Beer Menu

Miguel at Almuñécar’s Restaurante Reina Sofía is doing a special menu to accompany five special beers. The six-course tasting menu comprises of Aperitif, Salad, Entree, Fish dish and Meat dish, each one accompanied by a different top-class beer. The meal is rounded off with a dessert.

NAFAS Lecture for April

On Tuesday 10th April, there will be a NADFAS lecture presented by Anne Sebba BA (Hons), entitled The Dollar Princesses: American women who married into the European aristocracy and whose wealth helped preserve houses and estates.

RBL Forthcoming Events

The Nerja Branch of the Royal British Legion hold regular social meetings at the Hotel Al Andalus in Maro and at the Peña Parda restaurant on the beach at La Herradura. We also run or take part in other fund-raising events.

Good News

In this world of political and economic turmoil, it is very rare to hear something positive in the media. But at seven o’clock in the morning on Thursday February 23rd, while having our coffee and croissants, we heard some wonderful news on the television. A girl had been born to Swedish Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel.

Triple C…

In the January issue we were broadcasting doctor’s dislike of vitamins. This time we are in good humour and would like to inform you about what we LIKE: triple C – that is coffee, cocoa and… cholesterol! Yes – you may trust your eyes! This is finally a positive message about western-worlds-worst-health-enemy (WWW.HE): cholesterol. Whilst the manufacturers of cholesterol-lowering-medicines (CLM – modern magazines need abbreviations) are trying to convince the public that everybody should be taking one of their fabulous pills, there is the first signs that their best customers might be dropping out.
