Politicians No!
We’ve all seen how politicians appear just before an election, suddenly everybody’s friends and kissers of babies. Of course, since the Gordon Brown incident in the UK, we also know what these politicians really think of us mere mortals.
The USA are true experts in this field of public pandering, with New Hampshire suffering constant politician invasions by men and women the public won’t see again for several years, if at all.
Well, one restaurant in Portsmouth NH called Colby’s Breakfast & Lunch, decided ‘enough is enough,’ and placed a sign outside ‘No Politicians, No Exceptions.’
Andrew, a waiter at the eatery explained, “We had some disturbances with politicians coming in and tying up the dining room, slowing down and spreading their agenda and just interrupting our clients’ breakfasts and disrupting the atmosphere,” he said, adding, “this has happened five or six times since the summer and we’re kinda fed up with it.” he concluded.
If ever I find myself in Portsmouth, this establishment will definitely be one of my lunch stops. Proper customer care at last… no thought for the ‘rich and famous’ politicians, only for their customers’ eating experience.
Oh, by the way, the restaurant were definitely not courting publicity either, because when a journalist tried to speak to some customers the cook emerged and told him to take a hike too!
So Sad
A man from Thailand married his girlfriend, even though she was dead. The couple had been putting off their wedding for some time, due to heavy work commitments, but were just days away from the big day when tragedy struck.
The young bride to be was involved in a serious road accident, leaving her boyfriend, Chadil Deffy, distraught and keeping a bedside vigil. However, the young woman succumbed to her injuries, dying in hospital.
The devastated Chadi could not accept the loss of his love and resolved to marry her as planned. So it was that friends and family arrived and witnessed a Buddhist marriage ceremony joining the couple forever.
Photos of the couple and the ceremony were posted on facebook, where tens of thousands of people have supported the couples love story by clicking on the ‘like’ tab.
As for Chadi, he is just convinced that his marriage is valid and that he and his bride will be reunited in their next life.
