Many who live along the Cuesta Cordobilla have been after the Town Hall to do something about the state of the road surface, laced as it is with potholes and an network of patched areas; Well, they’re onto it.

Municipal surveyors have calculated a budget of 45,041 euros in order to retarmack nearly 600 metres of the lane, equivalent to a surface of 3,799 sq/ms. This work will be divided into two areas; the main one requiring 3,299 sq/m of tarmac and a smaller one needing only 480 sq/m.
The first task will be to fill in the potholes and then prepare the surface for a layer of tarmac, which will be approximately five centimetres thick. After that, they will sort out rainwater run-off.
Mayor Ruiz Joya said, “I know that there are residents that have been complaining about the state of the lane and they are right to have done so beause people reach their homes, or bring down their agriculutral produce down it, and not forgetting access for emergency vehicles,” adding, “Having a road surface in good condition is not a luxury but rather a necessity.”
Finally, the Town Hall believes that the work will take 10 working days once the contract has been awarded.
