A man in his early 60s possibly choked to death (the cause of death is not clear) around 10:30h on Wednesday, while having breakfast inside a bar located on Calle Antígona in Málaga.

The bar where this happened is just across from the Hospital Virgen de la Victoria University Clinical.
The emergency coordination service received a call to say that a man was suffering convulsions and was semi-unconsciousness, as well as another call to say that a 61-year-old man had fainted.
It is not entirely clear exactly what happened to him other than he died in the said bar, right in front of a general hospital… but somebody thought it was best to phone 112 instead of getting him as fast as possible across the road to the A&E of the hospital.
Anyway, paramedics onboard 061 ambulance treated him on the spot and then got him to the hospital, where he arrived dead on arrival.
The reason for the doubt, given the lack of information is that the man had an underlying medical condition. Eyewitnesses said that the victim was very thin and used a wheelchair. He had been having breakfast inside the bar with a family member.
“He choked,” said one of them, whilst another stated that some people were also referring to a possible heart attack. Everything happened suddenly and quickly.
Witnesses also said that a nurse who was having breakfast at the barand tried to resuscitate the man using CPR, whilst other people present (some of them healthcare workers) called for an ambulance.
The bar is adjoing another one and both have tables outside on the terrace. When emergency vehicles arrived the waiters had to rapidly remove these obstructions.
