King Felipe VI has recently undergone an operation lasting approximately half an hour in Oviedo (Cantabria) to remove a cataract from his left eye.

“As you all know, this is a routine operation which took only half an hour,” announced The Casa Real to the press.
Following the operation the King passed the night in the Instituto Oftalmológico Fernández-Vega, in Oviedo, which is where he had been operated upon.
The surgery took place during the Royal Family’s stay in Asturias for the Princess of Asturias Awards ceremony, the ceremony for which was held this Friday at the Campoamor Theatre in Oviedo.
