A lawcourt in Sevilla has handed down the first guilty verdict for three men for using an AI application to manipulate images of several young women with whom they went to school, to obtain fake images of them naked.

To top it off, they posted the images on WhatsApp and Discord groups, which went unchecked until one of the victims had her manipulated image forwarded to her via Instagram by a friend.

The three men decided go about this with the help of a minor and once the images were finished, they shared them between themselves (including the minor) via a private Whatsapp and Discord groups, before placing them on forwarding chains.

The court applied a gender-based aggravating factor, alongside mitigating factors for full financial compensation of moral damages and early confession.

Each defendant received a 9-month prison sentence (which were suspended sentences as they were inferior to two years) and a 3-year & 9-month ban from Telegram, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Discord. They also have to complete a sexual education programme.
