An articulated lorry came off the A-92 autovía on a sharp bend and plunged down a steep embankment early yesterday afternoon.

According to the emergency coordination centre, 112, the accident took place at 13.45h near kilometre point 193 where it passes through the municipality of Loja on the Almería-bound lanes.

The driver of the refrigerated lorry was injured, but not badly and was treated at the scene of the accident after the arrival of the Loja Fire Department, the Guardia Civil and a 061 ambulance. A road maintenane crew was also despatched to the scene.

It has not been made known as yet how the driver lost control of the vehicle.
