A man in his early 50’s has been remanded in custody in the provincial prison over the murder of another man in the Motril municipal dependency of Carchuna.

The man had confessed to having been involved in the death which took place on Sunday the 16th of last month in a cortijo where several people lived – it was the owner who alerted the police. 

When officers arrived, the victim, covered in blood, showed no signs of life .

The suspect was found and arrested around 05.00h. He told the police that he had had an argument with the victim, which ended in his death. He also showed the officers where to find the murder weapon. 

He was brought before the Juzgado de Motril, and the judge ordered that he be placed in custody without bail.
