Convergencia Andaluza (CA) put forward a motion at the last Plenary Meeting of the Town Council, urging urgent measures that will make Calle Barranco de Cotobro within Urb. de Cotobro safe.

The problem is, the CA considers, is that water runs down the barranco all year round and across the road surface, building up a slippery surface of tiny algae.

It is worth pointing out that this is also the case in Taramay where the Rambla Caballero runs down the centre of the road from under the N-340 to the junction near Hotel Bahía II. If you’re on a bike and stray into to centre area you could well end up on the ground.

Anyway, back to Cotobro, where the CA says that this slimey surface is dangerous for bikes and bicycles; i.e., 2-wheel vehicles. If you’re walking down it, as well.

The definitive solution is to built an underground conduit to channel the water. They say that one already exists along the Paseo de Cotobro.

In the meantime, the CA proposes, that the Town Hall should get its maintenance crews to clean off the slippery layer forming on the road surface.
