Following a house fire in Lobres yesterday, fire personnel came across the body of a man in his early 50s.

The emergency coordination centre, 112, hadn’t received any calls reporting a house fire in this small municipal dependency of Salobreña because the Motril Fire Service was alerted directly, it appears .

The fire broke out around 09.00h in a bedroom in a single-story house on Calle Nueva, not far from the church.

The victim lived by himself and suffered from mobility problems and other medical conditions. The Guardia Civil have taken charge of an investigation into the incident.
