A girl just over a year old was rescued in Pinos Puente from the inside of a vehicle after becoming trapped inside.

This occurred on Friday the 15th of last month (a particularly hot day) around 14.30h. A frantic mother contacted the Policía Local to say that her baby was trapped inside her car, which she couldn’t get open.

The police report stated, “upon the officers’ arrival, the baby was crying inconsolably and the situation required quick and effective action to protect her physical integrity.” In other words, they smash a side window.

The report also explained that the problem was caused by a safety system built into the locking system; she had left her keys in the car and the vehicle had locked itself automatically.

Editorial comment: how many drivers have nightmares about this happening to them after leaving the keys inside their vehicle by mistake?
