Could Have Sworn I Left It There…

When you hear of theft taking place in homes, the house stays where it is, but in this case they stole the house.

Yes, that’s right: a resident of Pizarra reported that his prefab home installed on his countryside plot was stolen using a boom truck equipped with a crane. The case of theft is under investigation by the Guardia Civil.

The wooden house had been sitting on the owners plot of land just 200 metres from the road in the Charcuela area of the said municpality of Pizarra in the province of Málaga.

Obviously, there was nobody ‘at home’ at the time because the owner used it as a weekend retreat. Mind you, the owner already had problems on his hands because of  zoning violation, and being next to the Río Guadalhorce, it had suffered flooding issues.

After turning up one morning, set upon enjoying a spot of relax in his country retreat, there was his cabin… gone! He immediately reported it to the police who probably though he was confused, trying to report a burglarly, but they went to the plot and there was the cabin… still gone!

Since then they have been looking for a large flatbed lorry sneaking around with a wooden cabin on the back.
