Fancy a trudge around Ugíjar - probably one of the most difficult place names to pronounce? Well, you're in luck because Almuñécar has organised a walk for this Sunday.
Ugíjar is in the eastern end of the Alpujarra Granadina, not far from the border with the Alpujarra Almeriense.

The route is circular, taking in the Río Valor area, the Rambla de Carlonca, The Rambla seca, the Molino de Solimán, the hamlet of Las Canteras, the Castillo de Escariantes, the Cerro del Castillo, El Cerrón, the Barranco de Juan Diego and the Ermita de San Antonio.
The route is described as of medium difficulty and will take approximately seven hours, meaning that stragglers will be shot to put them out of their misery…
The bus will leave at 07:30h from Estadio Municipal de Deportes, where hikers will be whisked off to their doom… sorry! starting off point. There will be a guide and a priest for last rites.
If you are interested, you can put your name down at the sports office in the stadium from Monday to Thursday between 09.00h and 14.00h and 17.00h and 22.00h. More information on 958 883 142 and 673 369 309.
