Walking up the slip road from the roundabout beneath the N-340 to Hotel Salambina we noticed that work was going on down on the vega along the Camino Gambullón.
That’s the lane that connects the new medical centre to La Caleta via La Guardia, which is pretty narrow in places.

Turns out that they are widening it, increasing its width from four to six metres, meaning that two cars can pass will room to spare.
Furthermore, there will be a 2.6m wide path for pedestrians, which has always been absent until now meaning that vehicles and pedestrians had to share the same road surface.
There was a time, of course, when parts of this camino were a dirt track and we’re not talking about so long ago, either.
This work has a budget of 266,000 euros, funded by the Provincial Council and will be completed in two stages: the first stage will go as far as La Guardia and the second stage will continue it on to La Caleta.
Of course, this all has to do with the TH1 (hotel plots between El Peñon and La Caleta). Furthermore, the square in La Guardia will also be done up, thanks to funding from the TH1 Compensation Board.

Sorry about the typos. You cannot buy a mobile phone that will withstand being dropped out of a jacket pocket or from a car roof. Maybe I should invest in a military grade mobile protective cover ?
Very good news on widening and pedestrian/cycling route?
These hotels. Are they the ones that should have been built. But disagreements happened over the amount of floors, maybe 6 I steady of 4. Considering there are plots with skellington hotel/apartment blocks in and around Salobrena. Did we really need more? Shame about the proposed / loss of parking/delivery spaces along the sea front. Still much more walking room for those who visit , cyclists and those on electric bikes. Park up near the bus stop/cafe and catch a bus to the front.
Sometimes I wonder about people in power and their logic.
