The affected building houses the large retail store, China Home, which is just across from the Centro Comercial Alcampo.

The Policía Local were despatched to the scene just after when it happened at one in the morning to cordon off the area in front.

At the same time the Motril Fire Department had personnel pulling down unstable parts in danger of coming down and evaluating the damage caused.
