The first Lobres classic-car rally, held on Sunday, was declared a sucess by the First Councillor for this municipal dependency of Salobreña
A total of 48 registered vehicles and a further 20 non-registered cars participated, who had arrived from the provinces of Málaga, Almeria, Granada, Jaen, and Córdoba, as well as our own province.

Amongst the many activities was the Last Vampire of Lobres tour, which attracted more participants than expected. The objective of the tour was to shine a light on the Costa Tropical and specifically positioning Lobres as the starting point for a attractive tourist route.
The tour included Playa Granada and Motril Port with the first pit-stop along Salobreña seafront promenade, where refreshment was had in the local chiringuitos.
Then they went back to to the Plaza de la Libertad in Lobres for the main event in the form of a huge paella, entertainment, and a spot of sampling local gastronomy. The company, Paella Gigante Granada, offered typical local dishes, such as hinojos, callos and chicharrones for example.
There were also prizes and local products (provided by local businesses) were raffled off.

Sorry, Michael, we reported as soon as we found out about it.
It would have been great to know about this event before it happened, unfortunately on the Costa Tropical the promotion of upcoming events is seriously lacking.
A real shame as a classic car enthusiast.
