Insufficient Lighting

The Motril opposition party, the Andalucia Por Sí (AxSí) has registered a request at the Town Hall for the Council to demand street lighting along the Carretera de Las Ventillas.

They say that many locals have complained about the absence of lighting along this lane between the roundabout beneath the port-road flyover and the entrance into the barrio of Las Ventillas.

According to the party Spokesman, Carlos Luis García Rodríguez, this lane is “used on a daily basis by a large number of vehicles, including articulated lorries, as well as mopeds, cyclists, pedestrians and even horse-drawn, farming vehicles.”

With the arrival of nightfall and the absence of lighting, the lane becomes dangerous for all those who use it, his party considers.

For this reason, his party has requested in a Plenary Meeting that it be determined which administration is responsible for making good this deficit; be it the Ministerio de Carreteras, the Motril Town Hall, or the Provincial Council. This having been done, a study should be carried out to establish how much street lighting along the lane would cost.
