A fire in a flat in Edificio El Camping on Calle Alhambra in La Herradura broke out in the early afternoon of yesterday.

The emergency coordination centre, 112, received a call at 15.20h to say that there was a fire in a 4th-storey flat in the said building.

The emergency centre alerted the Almuñécar Fire Department, the Guardia Civil, the Policía Local and the 061 ambulance service.

Despite the flames, nobody was injured… although a cat had to be rescued that had remained in the flat.

As a precaution, the residents living on the 3rd and 4th floor were temporarily evacuated from the building.
