The first major police operation in Spanish criminal history has targeted a white-supremacist, terrorist group.
The Policía Nacional arrested three people in the province of Castellón, all linked to the terrorist organisation known as The Base; a new, international network comprised of paramilitary cells that, “undergo military-style instruction in training camps with the ultimate goal of carrying out attacks,” explained Ministry of the Interior yesterday.

Police maintain that this cell, after completing its training, was ready to commit terrorist attacks on Spanish soil. Among their potential target were politicians, police officers, immigrants, members of the Jewish and Muslim communities, anti-fascist activists, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
The cell’s leader, who was arrested last Tuesday, has already been remanded in custody by order of a national law court. Judge Antonio Piña has charged him and his two alleged accomplices with belonging to a terrorist organisation, recruiting, indoctrinating, and training individuals for terrorist purposes, and illegal possession of weapons.
During five raids carried out in the province of Castellón, authorities seized nine weapons, two of them firearms, ammunition, more than 20 blade weapons, a complete set of tactical military equipment used in training activities, supremacist materials and documentation, propaganda from The Base, neo-Nazi paraphernalia, and documents praising other terrorist organisations.
The police investigation began in early 2025 when officers specialising in combating terrorism and radicalism detected a highly radicalised individual aligned with the supremacist terrorist principles of The Base.
This organisation was created in July 2018 by American (surprise!) Rinaldo Nazzaro (known by the aliases ‘Norman Spear’ and ‘Roman Wolf’), who currently resides in Russia.
This group is considered a terrorist organisation within the European Union, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand (but not in the USA). Essentially, it is a violent extremist group “with racial motivations” that seeks “to incite a race war to establish a white ethnostate.”
According to the most radical version widely followed by neo-Nazi groups, especially in the United States, it is necessary to provoke a social revolution to advance toward a “post-capitalist society” controlled by the Aryan race. And to bring about these changes, all methods are permissible, including terrorist ones.
