Segovia Competition Winner

Croatian guitarist, Filip Mišković, won first prize at the 40th Andrés Segovia International Classical Guitar Competition

The event was closed by the Mayor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, who reminded the winners about “the responsibility of the lineage of Maestro Andrés Segovia.”

  • First Prize Andrés Segovia: awarded to Filip Mišković (Croatia). The prize includes 10,000 euros and a special edition Maestro concert guitar, made by La Herradura luthier, Stephen Hill.
  • Second Prize Andrés Segovia: awarded to Vledyslav Indyk (Ukraine). The prize includes 4,000 euros and a special edition Double Top concert guitar from the Granada-based luthiers, Martínez-Lázaro.
  • Third Prize Andrés Segovia: the judges decide not to award a Third Prize..

The awards ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Leo Brouwer Prize for the best performance of the required piece (Andrés Segovia’s Estudio sin luz) and the Diego Martínez Prize, awarded by the audience, which includes a trip to perform a recital at the 2026 Noches del Castillo Festival.

“They say wood has memory, and in La Herradura, we have protected the silence necessary for the guitar to whisper its truth. Forty years are not reached by inertia, but by conviction and love for art,” the Mayor remarked. Sounds like someone had been smoking the crazy shit… Just joking!
