Nerja Parking

If you had tried to park in the large, open, car park in Nerja last week you would have found it closed because this extensive area was occuppied by the fiestas and fairground installations.

Nerja Town Council is still trying to solve the lack of parking facilities, as Nerja has an overall problem as far as parking goes, especially in the summer.

There was a preliminary approval this summer for a parking project that would have 847 parking spaces, next to the new Centro de Salud, which is under construction.

Following the approval, at the beginning of last August, of the draft project for a new parking facility, the Council has now contracted the preparation of the feasibility study.

The feasibility report will be written up by Karuna Consultoría Integral. They, amongst four other companies, put in the cheapest bid for the task, which had a budget of 16,819 euros. The report must be drawn up within 55 calendar days from the signing of the contractural document.

The new parking building will consist of four floors, with a total constructed area of 25,406 sq/m. However, details regarding the funds required for the car-park project are still unknown.
