Almuñécar Sports Department has announced that the programmed walks for this season will recommence on the 21st of this month with a route around Güejar Sierra.
This Güejar-Sierra walk will take in the Acequia de la Solana, in Güéjar Sierra, including the landscapes of fig, chestnut, oak, and holm-oak trees, combining nature, sport, and outdoor recreation.

The route, with an estimated duration of five hours, will begin in Güéjar Sierra and continue past such well known spots as the Fuente de los 16 caños (spouts) the Alberca de la Solana, Acequia, Central, Molino del Coto and Canal de la Viña, ending at the Estación Maitena which is now a well recommended restaurant, which I can personally attest to.
If you don’t like heights, however, this is not a walk for you, perhaps.
You can put your name forward, either by doing it at their office in the municipal, sports stadium from Monday to Friday between 09.00h & 14.00h and 17.00h & 22.00h. More info: 958 883 142 or 673 369 309.
