Have you got a spare 50,000 euros hanging around? Fancy buying a castle? Well, then, you're in luck because there is a medieval castle for sale in Cuenca.
It will need more that a lick of paint and few tabs of Blu Tack to make it liveable, mind, and rather than a castle, it’s a keep within a walled precinct which also contains another building within the walls. But, as you can see from the photo, it pretty much looks like a castle to most of us.

The castle, El Castillo de Valhermoso de La Fuente, lies within the boundaries of a small village of only 60 residents called La Manchuela. It’s owners decided to put it up for sale through a local real-estate agency.
Built in the 12th century, the real-estate agency offering it, Serrano Poveda, highlights its location next to the A-3 highway (Madrid-Valencia), 180 kilometres from the capital of Spain and 140 kilometres from the city of Valencia.
Anyway, it need some heavy-duty renovation/restoration work on its four floors and outer walls. It sits on a 150,000 sq/m plot and has electricity. According to the real-estate company, as the owner you can get an 80% grant for restoration work.
Like most military structures, it is placed on a hillock in the village, giving excellent views of Río Júcar Valley. It’s also close the Embalse de Alarcón.
Cuenca, by the way, is well worth a visit and the nearby Ciudad Encantada, which is an amazing rock formation that will blow you mind.
